Hey all, experimenting converting captured avi to SVCD compliant mpeg2 format. I'm following allong with the conversion guide on this and have a question about the Source Aspect Ration. How do I know what this is? I'm using MMC 7.6 for the capture and don't see any settings that specifically say the aspect ration. The resolution I'm using is 720x480 on the avi file. What's the difference between 1:1, 4:3, etc etc?
I have a 30 minute show I'm burning to SVCD.... using 2pass vbr with tmpgenc, can anyone tell me some min/max bit rates to try (shooting for highest possible quality for 30 minutes on 1 CD)?
Thanks in advance for the info and advice!!
Jeff

Doh, I stumbled accross the bitrate calculators so I have that part covered... still wondering about the avi AR though... and also, is a 2pass vbr bitrate of 2520 the max you can go??
