I'm using Virtual Dub to go from VCD to DivX, and I follow the instructions on the website exactly. Now this happens for every *.mpg file that I have on my computer no matter what it is and it always just sits there at frame zero and never moves, the application doesn't necessarily freeze, but nothing happens. Instead of DivX Audio compression I tried using Mpeg Layer 3 instead, now that works. But why? Is it the same as DivX audio or is DivX audio better? If it is, I want DivX audio to work for me, so what can I do?

I figured out what this was.... You have to make sure that you choose the bitrates specifically marked DIVX The highest one is 64kbps 44hz, or just stick with Mpeg Layer 3 and choose a higher bitrate...it's better anyways
