Each frame of the Elgato capture contains two pictures. The Elgato portion of the first sample converted to its two constituent pictures:
The Avermedia capture discarded one of those pictures.
By the way, I verified that the Elgato won't capture 1080i30 as 1080p30. You can work around this by setting your source to output 1080p60 -- that will be saved as 1080p30. If you set the software to downscale 1080i30 to 720p it will encode as 720p30 with an adequate deinterlacing algorithm.
