    "Sarka Pancochova2014_Frames_1_2.mp4" opens and plays correctly in VirtualDub 1.9.11 thru the QuickTime plugin + x264 VfW codec.

    Frames = 239;

    640x360@29.97fps

    Update:
    Apparently my quicktime filter was missing. Looks like m4's were defaulting to my ffInputDriver (checked file Information and if I turned off that filter, the file would not load at all) I downloaded a new one and turned FFDshow AVC1 codec on (for missing codec message) and now the 'bad' videos play fine in VirtualDub.
    El Heggunte's suggestion of drivers made me download them all and install again with working results. Even the frame indicator is correct now.

    New problem though is the Dshow driver doesn't find many formats... Oh well...

  3. The error is reproducable from his source video with ffinputdriver . I can encode similar script and get weird framenumber and grey screen.

    But other videos used a a source encoding with similar commandline to h264/aac/mp4 using ffmpeg seem to be fine with ffinputdriver .

    Encoded video begins with an IDR frame, so that's not the issues . But it seems to be some bug related to ffinputdriver

    All seems to be fine now. In addition to my other problems it appears I had corrupted codecs from a program I had installed to work on a problem for someone. It of course was not supposed to bother my originals but.. yeah.. I flushed and reinstalled all my codecs and DirectShow filter works now also (found very few formats before).

    So it looks like it may or may not occur with FFinputDriver? Hmm.
