Of course, h.265 isn't yet supported by many devices yet. And QTGMC() is far better overall than any TV's deinterlacer. TVs mostly use simple bob or a smart bob similar to Yadif. Of course, you occasionally find a sequence that QTGMC screws up on, but fewer than other deinterlacers.
I'm still waiting for you to finish off your comprehensive GPU encoding thread.
