    I'm trying to convert avi to mpeg and it always has blank video no matter what I try. anyone know whats going on?

    does the file play in WMP? if not, you probably don't have the right codec installed

    what i had to do with this problem was go to Option-->Environmental setting-->VFAPI Plugin Tab -->then move the Direct Show Multimedia File Reader To top priority. Something to do with reading most things that will open in windows media player, i did that and everything i working fine for my avi to mpg conversion now if i could only get my vob to mpg to work (cant open .d2v fils as the video source if anyone knows why)
