You mean you downloaded crap Please specify the "out of sync" problem. Is audio faster / slower than the video or is there just an audio / video delay? Also it might be necessary to post the file properties here and which tools you are willing to use to convert to MPEG.

  5. it seems to be a video delay , because the audio comes out fist before the video. i'm using vdub , tmpgenc and nero or vcdeasy to burn.
    audio format:
    mpeg layer 3,56kbits
    24,000 hz stero

    video format
    352x288
    24 bits, 35031 frames
    12,500 frames/sec
    ms-mpeg4 v3

hopefully this will help with the answer .

    thanks

Don't know about resident evil, But I do know Blade 2 is OK, apart from the usual bad frames.

Is the AVI in sync ? and only goes out of sync after conversion ?, and by any chance is it Nero that has cause the sync problem, because the AVI was not converted to a fully compliant VCD mpeg ?

Load AVI into Vdub, select Video > Scan Video stream for errors.
Then select Video > streaming, and audio > streaming and SAVE AS

Save out another copy of the movie (1 min or so)

Now load new movie into TMPGEnc Next hit the "load" button and load a "VCD template" PAL/NTSC

Hit run and stop after a few minuets and check the output.
If there is still a problem, you need to select Settings > Advanced > Source range , From there you can use audio gap correct +/-

At a guess I think you have not made a fully compliant VCD, and Nero is converting it, and will cause this problem
