  1. Sony CD-RW CRX160E Burner.

I am using the DVD plugin I got for ULead VideoStudio Version 5.0. When starting to create a VCD, everything seems to work fine until the software wants to start actually burning the disk then I get the following error.

Generic Error from CD/DVD recording software. Please make sure drive is ready and try again.
I have downloaded all the update patches and tried, can't get it working?

My burner is working because I can use any of the other burning software programs I have to burn a disk. I am also using Easy CD Creator Version4.02, Goldenhawk CdCreator and the CloneCd Demo. I of course am not trying to burn VCDs with them.

As far as I can tell the drive is ready, it works with my other
software and the DVD plugin reports how much space is on the disk.

Can anyone help out here please.

    thank you

    Les....

You can have the NTI burning plugin create an image.

CDMage can take that .cdp or .ncd image and convert to bin/cue formats then burn with CDRWIN.

  3. Yes I can create an image, it ends up being and *.ixa image. What is CDmag and where do I get it, is it free?

There must be a way to burn directly to DC however? I am owondering if my ASPI drivers aren't right for the DVD plugin or something. I am running the Microsoft ASPI drivers?

Have you checked Ulead's support site?

They have a patch available to help people who have problems with Cd burning

    http://www.ulead.com/tech/dvd_ftp.htm

Your drive is listed as being supported.

  5. I have downloaded and installed both of the patches that Ulead offers with no luck. The DVD patch did offer up another driver which appeared hopefull at first, then it quit afte writing a small amount to the burner and gave me the same error message.

Alot of people say that EZcd creates a lot of problems when other burning aplication are installed.

You could uninstall EZCD and try to burn with Ulead again. Other than that, I'd email their support, or call them.

Some versions of EZCD keep their drivers loaded (system tray) you could disable that.

But I think you would be better off getting rid of EZCD altogether.

I have a Creative CDRW and the plugin has worked fine for me, how ever, I don't have EZCD installed.

  7. I uninstalled EZCD Creator Version 4.0 and that solved my problem. I still have and use CDRWIN. HOwever, I would like an easier drag and drop type of copier for data back up ETC. Any suggestions?
    thank you

Nero is a very capable CD burning package. I'm sure it has all of the features of EZCD, without the headaches.

Win On CD has similar features, but the interface isn't as well defined as Nero's IMO.

The full version of NTI, seems to be pretty nice also.
