I posted once before, got 0 responses. I have a Samsung M109 DVD player, that ic VCD capable. I can play a CD-R VCD that I purchased on e-bay, but cannot copy this one or create my own from downloaded mpegs. I contacted the guy who burned the VCD/CD-R and he doesn't remember which brand he used(he buys what's on sale!). The manufacturer of the CD-R is hidden by his label, which I don't want to try and remove, as the disc may not be playable if I screw up the balance.
The only discernable marking is the disc serial #, which is printed on the BACK side of the clear area of the disc, in a semicircle.. P3103682781001.
Could anyone tell me what brand/manufacturer uses that number of digits, no hyphens, no spaces????
I've ruled out;
Pengo
Shark
Fuji
HP
Tevion &
Imation
..based on my own observation. Could this be Princo???
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

why dont you copy the cd.. take the label off of the original, see what brand cd-r it is, buy that brand.. and then all your problems will be solved

I guess it's more of a problem with encoding/burning software than with the particular brand of CD. I have used a lot of different brands and ended up using cheapest possible crap, no-name stuff even. The truth is that there is really very little difference between different brands. If a no-name CD burns successfully then it's as good as any top brand. Most branded (TDK, HP, etc) stuff is coming from the very same factories in Taiwan or China than the cheapest crap, the only difference is the label. In fact the only real difference is that when you buy 100 blank branded CDs you may have several which are screwed up, with cheaper or no-name brands the raio is higher, you may end up with 20 unusable CDs out of 100 but I still find it cheaper overall than buying top brands. Once it burns it's as good as the best of them and, frankly, my standalone DVd players doesn't seem to care which brand I use.

Personaly I would check the compatibility list of your DVD player.
I had a look in the DVD Players section of this website. I could not find your specific player but the M105 and M101 dont seem to be able to play either CD-R or CD-RW. maybe you could check this out on the Samsung website.
If you have tried both CD-R & CD-RW I would guess that this would be your problem. I dont think the brand really matters to much.
Also, check the file on the VCD. is the file a .dat or .mpg. Your DVD may not understand .dat files.
Hope this helps

Hello Everyone,
Today I bought a DVD+RW/CD-RW It's a Sony. The program that cam with it to copy DVD's is called " B's recorder Gold " . I have the following Programs : Clad DVD XP 1.3, Ifoedit09, Vobedit04 and I can 't find the Smart Ripper at no sites.
My question is real basic, How can I take the write protected codes off a DVD movie and record the movie on a blank DVD ?? I've tried with the programs I have and none of them work except Clad DVD XP1.3 but after this process is over my program that comes with my DVD burner(B's RecorderGold) won't reconize the files to burn. I was told but Darrow that all I need is The smart Ripper(Can't find), The Ifoedit09, and the program that cam with my DVD Burner.....but I have the next best thing and somethings wrong. I have windows Xp. Can someone assist me in learning how to copy DVD movie's ?
