I have had my Pioneer 434 for about 2 years now Have been watching SVCD's & VCD's on it for about a year. Have never had a problem until a couple of weeks ago. It seems that there is no sound out of my svcd's or vcd's at times.(Especially, when I first put in the CD). The picture is fine, but there is no sound. After about 5-10 minutes of messing around with it (Ejecting, changing settings), it finally starts to play. However, I can stick in a DVD, & the sound is just fine.
It is not the reciever, because I have tried plugging in the DVD player to a different audio reciever, & same thing.
I have tried connecting the Pioneer 434 to a reciever via analog & an optical audio connection. Same issue.
All my SVCD's are commercial SVCDs & ripped by professional groups. So it's not an encoding issue, because I have played these SVCD's in before this issue, & they worked fine.
Any help would be appreciated. I am at a point of replacing it with an Apex if it continues.
