I'm not good with english btw you mean you want me to upload a short video on youtube? But you can only see a black screen.. I can screenshot my elgato settings
-
No, not to Youtube. Upload a short sample to this web site. There is an "Upload files/Manage attachments" button below most of the edit boxes when you post a message. A 5 or 10 second sample is enough.
YOU can only see a black screen. We don't know if the recording is bad or something about your computer that prevents you from seeing the picture in the recording. Bad TS reader/splitters and codecs often display that symptom.
Or try playing one of your videos with VLC. It doesn't rely on system installed components. -
"Windows7 Preferred Filter Tweaker" should make your WMP start acting decently.
I don't use Sony Vegas, so I cannot help you with that. -
WMP uses DirectShow filters to open TS, MP4, etc. files. It also uses DirectShow h.264 decoders, audio decoders, etc. You need to figure out which component is causing your black screen problem. Unfortunately, unlike many other players, WMP doesn't offer any diagnostics that will let you track this down. The h.264 decoder seems like the most likely. Try installing a different h.264 decoder. I like to use ffdshow because it includes decoders for almost all common audio and video codecs and they can be easily enabled or disabled. If another h.264 decoder doesn't help you can try a different reader/splitter -- LAV or Haali.

It can be hard to get windows to use the right codecs and filters. Did you try the Preferred Filter Tweaker suggested by El Heggunte?

Now we see that your current problem has nothing to do with the original title of this topic
("Help me with elgato gaming capture hd").
IMHO, now you should focus on being able to edit those captured videos
Sony Vegas surely is not the only tool in the kit, and probably you should spend some more time doing a lot of reading.
Also, probably you'd better start a brand-new topic in the Editing forumLast edited by El Heggunte; 24th Mar 2014 at 14:59. Reason: formatting

Unlike WMP, most other players don't rely on DirectShow in their default configurations. Go to Start -> All Programs -> ffdshow -> Video Decoder Configuration. In the left pane select Tray, Dialogs & Paths. In the right pane, on the Tray Icons line, select Modern or Classic. In the left pane select Codecs. In the right pane make sure H.264/AVC is set to Libavcodec. Press OK.
Now play a video with WMP. Does the ffdshow icon show up in the System Tray? Are you running 64 bit Windows or 32 bit Windows?
