    Was doom9 forced to shut down? They've been down for ten and a half hours.

    "Down For Everyone or Just Me" says forum.doom9.org is down.

    But fear not, that's normal

  6. Is Doom9 built on Wordpress? The Wordpress ping-back feature is being abused again.

    I thought the Doom9 site ceased operation years ago . . . .

    Show you how in touch with certain developments I am.

  8. There's still some software which has it's home at doom9. ie that's where the bug reports/support threads for said software reside. Some of those threads are still quite active. I post in a couple of them regularly myself. The rest of doom9 seems pretty quiet though.

    Minus the '9', perhaps ? DOOM was one of the original FPS (first person shooter) games, possibly going back as far as the '186-based IBM PC ? Or maybe more like the '386 time ? Anyway, graphics were rather primitive back then. They probably improved these, at some point. Anyway, I think they may even have made a cheesy sci-fi movie out of it . . . starring The Rock, or someone like that ?

  18. Code:
    $ telnet forum.doom9.org 80
    Trying 213.112.23.103...
    telnet: connect to address 213.112.23.103: No route to host
    Their web server is down. The server itself is up and running (can be pinged).

    No idea what's going on. Most likely a hardware failure of some kind.

    I thought that only a small subset of what Doom9 used to be had survived into recent years ?
