  1. I-ve got a region free DVD player and I-m in Europe. If I play NTSC region 1 DVDs on it will the picture quality be the same as the region 2 DVDs? Do I need also a TV that plays NTSC?
    thanks in advance m8s

  2. Yes to first question.

If your tv can display a pure ntsc signal then u should be fine.

If not your dvd player should have pal60 setting so you can watch ntsc on a pal tv in colour otherwise the picture will be in black & white.

In my case (NTSC, North America), I use my DVD player's "auto" settings to detect if the disc is formatted as NTSC or PAL (I have a bunch of PAL VCDs), and set the output display as NTSC. Ever since I did that, I haven't had to switch settings back and forth, or see black-and-white, smushed pictures when watching PAL VCDs. It all appears as normal as native NTSC discs.
