  1. Hi
I'm trying to hardcode a srt file to a mp4 file containing h264 video. I open my video file and add srt file from subtitle menu and set format to "mp4" and I choose "copy" for both video and audio encoding. When I play the file in XviD4PSP5 subtitle is shown and every thing is ok. but when encoding is done the result mp4 file is not showing subtitles. Am I doing anything wrong?
    thanks

You can't use copy mode if you want to hardcode . Choose a video codec.

  3. ok. how can I use the same video codec that the file is already in?

Easy, just select it. If you hardcode subs you have to reencode, as Baldrick said. Why shouldn't you be allowed to choose the same codec?

  5. I used "Media Info" from "Tools" menu and it says:

based on this output, I donno which codec to use so that quality is same as the source after subtitles burnt to video. I don't want to change anything but hardcode subs to video.

The quality will never be the same because you're reencoding. Set the audio to 'Copy' and under 'Video Encoding' choose x264 Q18 HQ. Set the format to MP4 and select the subs in Subtitles->Add. Encode. The size may be a little different but the quality should be similar to what you began with.

Lucky you. Iran gets Academy Award winning films available before we in the US.

    Bamana Khoda!
