  1. Hello,
I am sorry for my English (it's not my native language) but I really need help.

I have this file and I really wanna open it in SV 11.0. I had the same problem 2 years ago but after I installed a codec it worked. Now I bought a new Laptop and I have the same problem again. I've downloaded several codecs already but nothing worked so far.

When I drop the file into the Vegas timeline (in the beginning) I got an error.
    Then I installed:
    AC3Filter
    AC3File
    DivX Player + Codec
    ffdshow
(and some other codecs like Windows 7 codec, K-Lite Codec, Koepis xvid ... but I deinstalled them again because nothing changed)

And now SV opens the file but only one audio channel shows up (it builds the peeks but is really slow - it's at 25% after 30 minutes).

On my other computer it always opened all 12 channels and it looked like that (this picture is not mine)

I am trying to make it work for days now but with no success.
Do you guys have any idea what I could do to make it work again? I have Windows 7 btw.

I am happy about every reply. I hope you all have an amazing day.

  3. Thank you for answering. I did exactly what you said (file > properties > audio > master bus mode > 5.1 surround) but unfortunately it's still not working. I clicked at "Start all new projects with these settings" and restarted SV too but without success.

  4. Hi, it's me again. Thanks to aedipuss I finally found the solution. I installed K-Lite Codec again and when you install it they ask for the audio settings... I changed it from 2.0 to 5.1 and now everything is working.

    THANK YOU

    Tips for improving video quality
    Thursday August 15th, 2013

This is a tip for anyone who has an Intel or AMD/ATI graphics card. These manufacturers enable certain video 'enhancement' features by default in their drivers. The problem is that those features actually reduce quality instead of making things better.
It is thus recommended to disable these features. This should improve both quality and performance. You can find the relevant options in the control panel of your graphics card. You can usually find a shortcut to that control panel by right-clicking on your Desktop. Options that you should disable are: "Noise reduction", "Adaptive contrast", "Dynamic Contrast", "Edge Enhancement", and "Skin Tone Enhancement". The number of options and their names can vary depending on the manufacturer and driver version. Visit our forum if you need assistence.

If you got a powerful graphics card then you could also try madVR in combination with MPC-HC. madVR is an advanced video renderer that is able to produce better quality than the standard renderers from Windows. Configuring madVR for optimal quality/performance can be a bit complex for novice users, so we only recommend using it if you got a decent amount of computer knowledge.
OP should try and see if it makes any noticeable change in quality.

Can somebody confirm or correct me:

If I install K-Lite-Codec-Pack on the same System like my Vegas (12Pro) - I work with Windows 7 64 bit, I can open ts-Videofiles with included AC3 sound in Vegas Pro?

Is it something important to consider when installing ?

    Thanks seifenchef

  7. Personally i use LAV filters and ffdshow - don't like "codec packs" - and usually everything works fine... not sure however what interface (API) is used by Sony.

  8. AVCHD with 5.1 audio should be loaded without anything extra needed, TS is a transport stream as well, you tell us if it was loaded with regular H.264 video, but now it is too late I guess, I would not install codec packs as well,
