    Hi

What is the difference between the .bin and .cue files?
In Nero, for example, do you burn both files or just the one?

    Regards

  2. The .cue file is only a small text-file that tells the program how to burn the .bin file. So you just open the cue file and the program will do the rest.

  6. Nero No Good On Bin/Cue???

In the old days everybody used Easy CD which was the most populor because of it's intuitive, simple interface
but to do some tweaking you had to use another burner like Nero
which had a more complex interface/menu
Form version 5 on however Nero also came with a very simple wizard while still maintaining the expert features in the preferences.
So I burned 5 years now with Nero (and occasionnaly CDRWin for some iso's) and never had any problems with it
Everybody has is or her favourite burner but
my point is only saying Nero is no good on bin/cue is not very informative

I agree though that quite some versions ago you better use CDRWin or Fireburner for that matter

    greetings,

    Bart.

What is the advantage of using the bin cue files? I have been making SVCDs using DVD2SVCD and nero 5.5.8 with the SVCD plug in, and it doesn't use the bin/cue files, just the MPEG-2 file. Is there an advantage to using them?

  9. Hi,

Oh yes there is a difference!
if you burn the (muxed) mpg file with Nero you wont have chapters!
if you burn the bin/cue file you'll have chapters
so select the vcdimager radio button in dvd2svcd

btw, you say I use Nero with mpeg2 plugin but in fact you use dvd2scvd
    with either cce or tmpgenc

Nero Mpeg2 is one of the slowest encoders!
with burning the mpeg file or bin file you don't use the plug in

    greetings

    Bart.
