Im not sure if its true but Ive been notice some diferences from DVDs played in my DVD player (Gradient) from a friend's DVD player (Panasonic). Is it possible?? Are some hardware DVD players better them others? Does anybody have a comparation between same systems with diferent DVD players to report to us?

Is this a newbie question or none knows the answer?
Still waiting some feedback.... -
Yes, there are visable (and probably audible) differences. What I noticed on a particular Samsung model is horizontal lines in the video where (presumably) anamorphic video is being resized for my 4:3 TV. Apparently, it had a crummy resize/resample routine. Also some players have better D/A converters for the audio.. but I don't notice such a difference in the audio. Perhaps I would If I had the full blown surround system with great speakers and all.. Perhaps someday...

Well this to me would have ben an obvious answer to you. As there are differences in mpeg encoders then will be differences in mpeg decoders
