  1. Hi forumers ,

I use a video mixer called Vmix to live mix video feeds and record to my hard drive. I usually record in avi until I realise that I don't have the luxury of storage so I started using MP4 file. On Sunday I recorded what would probably be one of my most important videos of this year but the file won't play back. I have used all sorts of players and repair softwares and they all keep saying "format not supported". The file is clearly an MP4 video with the extension just like others I have recorded but strangely it wont open. I used the Vmix playback to play and it gave an error message to "Install Haali Media Splitter". The HMS is already there but because I am desperate I removed it and reinstalled but still no joy. I have installed another encoder still with no results. What do I do now? I noticed that the file size of 768mb would be too small for a 3hr+ recording but if I could retrieve whatever is on there I would really appreciate it.

Someone pls help a desperate amateur!

    Hello DDotoo,

Not sure whether you already tested Mac application Treasured or MP4repair.org in case you're in a PC. Probably you could get some preview from them and then decide whether the clip is worth repairing. Best of luck!
