  1. Hi,

I followed the divx to vcd tutorial on this site and tried to burn the mpeg but i get this error:

VcdxBuild.exe Execution failed: image too big

Now, the original divx .avi is about 700mb, and the mpg that was created by tmpgenc is about 1.12GB, so does this mean I cannot burn the vcd because the mpg is way over 700mb? So I can only burn a really small divx say, a 400mb one to vcd because when I convert it to mpg it just blows up in size? Hmm any advice is appreciated here.

    Thanks!

  2. You have to cut the mpeg file split it in half !
use mpeg tools in TMPGEnc (merge & cut)
or you can use Vcd Cutter! :D

  3. Aw that sucks.. So even though the divx file is 700mb and easily fits on a CD-R, if I want it to be a vcd that plays on a dvd player, I need two cd's ? Doesnt bother me, but I was going to give it to a friend and it's annoying having to swap cd's in the middle of watching something.

    thx

  4. I encode Divx stuff all the time into Mpegs so I can burn it to VCD & play it on my DVD Player. The Divx file is an .Avi file (Think of it like a Zip File). When you feed the Divx .Avi file into TMPEnc, it will encode it to an Mpeg file, your 700 MB Divx .Avi will now become like a 1400 MB Mpeg file! Don't feel bad, I encoded "Saving Private Ryan" today & wound up using (3) CD-R's!! (There weren't no other way to do it).
