If you don't like the version of Windows Paint that comes with W7 or W8, you can easily add the older XP version of the mspaint program to your PC. Mspaint is a .exe program file, so no install needed. If you have a copy of XP, the older version of paint is in 'C/Windows/System32/mspaint.exe". Copy and paste to W7/W8 where you want, then pin it to the start menu. Or if you don't have XP, you can find the XP mspaint on the net.
One location ' http://www.sheeptech.com/download/mspaint.exe ' (Lclick and save where you want, and then Rclick on the program and select 'Pin to Start Menu' so you will have easy access.) You could also replace the original file in the W7/W8 Windows folder, but you need permissions. This would allow the XP paint to show up in context menus.
I don't use Wordpad, but in XP it's in 'C/Program Files/WindowsNT/Accessories/Wordpad.exe' It runs on W7/W8, but I'm not sure if it's fully functional. If so, you could copy it also to your newer PC.
