Hi, I hope someone can help me on at least one of these problems I am having. I have downloaded some bin/cue VCD's or SVCD's in the past and burned them to CD. I was able to play them in my Apex AD-800, although with some of them I got hissing and screeches. Anyway, my AD-800 died and I got an Apex 5131.
I tried to play some of my discs in it and it loads them fine and even says playing but nothing ever come up, no audio or video. Most of my other play with no problems. I thought that maybe I would be able to take the ones that don't play and convert the .dat file into mpeg and then reburn for my 5131. Unfortunately, this doesn't work with VCDGear (classic mode and I could never get it running under OSX) and gives the error that "This file is not a DAT file or does not have the correct DAT signature." That's question #1, how can I convert these to a format that I can try to play in my 5131.
Question #2, I just downloaded a bin/cue VCD and tried to burn it with Toast in VCD format. Toast didn't recongize it there, so I tried it on XA-multitrack mode. That worked. However, it played for a little while then it jumped to track 7. When I started the disc over, it played like it was going frame by frame with no sound. ANyone ever have that happen? Why is it that some bin/cue files will burn fine with VCD while others won't and tells you that it can't find a MPEGAV directory?
Question #3, is anyone using an Apex 5131 and also a Mac? I have read that the 5131 does slide shows of jpegs, but how do I burn my CD so that it will recognize it in my player? I tried XA mode and ISO 9660 mode and both of them bring up a directory listing on my player and when I try to select one to play, nothing happens.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
