  1. I watch some anime, and I'm just wondering if there's a way for my default subtitle settings on MPC to apply to the video file's dialogue's subtitle settings? On MPC, there's a default subtitle settings (my preference) which is saved even when I close MPC. On a video file (.mkv), it has it's own set of subtitle settings which can be altered by doing right click-->subtitles-->styles. Here I see multiple subtitle settings for different things, such as opening scene, signs, dialogue, etc... The dialogue tab is named default 98% of the time, but the setting for that is different from the default subtitle settings on MPC. Is there any way for the MPC's default to override the .mkv's default without using MPC's default setting.

If I select MPC's default on, it will override the other subtitle settings of the mkv file and I will get some text on top of each other, A subtitle for a japanese sign will be under the dialogue at the bottom center instead of next to the sign for example. If I turn MPC's default off, I will have to manually change the mkv's dialogue subtitle to fit my preferences for EVERY video file.

I see some subtitle settings under misc listed in the following:
    1. Prefer forced and/or default subtitle tracks
    2. Prefer external subtitles over embedded subtitles
    3. Ignore embedded subtitles

I tinkered with these settings, but it doesn't seem to do what I want. I know #3 is the mkv's subtitles since when checked, subtitles don't work. Anyone know what these settings mean, specifically what is external subtitles vs embedded? I thought #1 would achieve what I wanted but it didn't unfortunately.

external = a seperate file (ie: video.mkv and video.srt). external means outside of (ie: external) of the video file.

embedded = subtitles that are part of the video image and cannot be disabled.

I'm just getting back into using MPC, but I believe the major problem here is that MPC doesn't interact with the options of some containers (ie: mkv, divx, etc.).
