I've just finished encoding a dvd-rip. Before I started the rip, I had 8gb of free space. After ripping all the files and successfully encoding an mpg, I find myself left with 2gb of free space. I then went to delete all the .ifos, .vobs, .wavs, .avis, etc., but still find that I only have 2gb of free space left. I was wondering if anyone can try to explain that logic to me? The mpg itself is approx. 2gb large, but still doesn't explain where my other 6gb went. Please help if you can. Thanx.

Sometimes my comp thinks I have more room left than I do... I guess that's the opposite problem but a quick scan disc will fix that up. In extreme cases a defrag will do. That takes hours though.
