A few nights ago the NBC television Network (in the States) ran a live broadcast of THE SOUND OF MUSIC (stage version).

I recorded it in widescreen, but my DVD recorder doesn't make anamorphic recordings.

I moved the DVD recording to my hard drive and used Avidemux to stamp the file with the "16 x 9" aspect ratio and to also trim a few seconds off the start of the recording. The automatic settings were set for "DVD".

Now, when any other file is run thru the automatic "DVD" setting, Avidemux goes back to the SOUND OF MUSIC file!

It won't allow me to process any other video thru the automatic DVD setting.

Can someone explain this and give me an idea what to do to make it stop?

I was afraid someone was going to say that.

Thank you, but do you have any idea WHY it would be doing this?

Sounds like you did a "save project" instead of a "save project as" and overwrote the default automatic DVD project with the Sound of Music project you were working on. So, as Baldrick said "Uninstall/delete avidemux and reinstall" to get things back to normal.

I think you're right. I seem to remember something strange happening when working on the Sound of Music file....

Couldn't find the saved project when I wanted it.

    Guess you just explained why.

    Thanks PJ (and Baldrick)!
