Hi there,
I recently got a new pc with Windows 8. I've tried to load AVIs into virtualdub and it isn't working. I've tried the 32bit and 64bit version (by pc is 64bit) but neither work. It comes up with an error message saying;
"Couldn't locate Decompressor for format DX50. VirtualDub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by windows media player, are not suitable."
This was never a problem on Vista. Is there something else I need to download?
Thanks

Install a divx codec . I think ffdshow also should work if you enable dx50 under the ffdshow vfw settings.
