Hi,
I have a mp4 file that I can convert to DVD format so that, once the disk is inserted into a player, the movie can be played like any other movie.
Is a similar format possible for USB and SD card ? For example, I can see there is a USB video device class. So, does it mean, I can use my 4GB USB stick to carry a movie ?

Not if you would like the video to work on all dvd/media players(with usb/sdcard support then). It's up to the player what formats it will support. The format that will work on most devices is probably avi with divx/xvid video and mp3 audio.

Sorry for the late response.
Would you know if an "auto play" kind of program could be written to start the video on USB or SD card as soon as it is inserted ? Or, perhaps, this is not a good idea because it could be inferred as a virus ? -
That is not possible. You usually configure auto play in the dvd/media player settings.
