Hello.

For a while I've been looking into ways to effectively extend the optical zoom range of my Panasonic camcorders (HC-V520 & HC-V720), but alas to no avail. I tried a number of the lower price range conversion lenses, such as Sony VCLR 2x & 4x telephoto lenses. But it only seems to work up to about half of the camera's zooming range; past that, the chromatic aberration at full zoom gets so bad, that the equivalent digital zoom looks better than the supposed "optical" image you're getting with these lenses (for example, at a 50 x optical with a 2x lens attached, a 100x digital zoom actually looks much better than the 100x optical you should be getting). Up to about 50% of the optical zooming range (25x for HC-V520 & 12x for HC-V720) the attached lens works fine, but after that, the chromatic aberration increases significantly (so that basically in practice, you get no increase in usable optical zoom whatsoever). Is there actually a kind of univeral telephoto lens with high quality optics that would fit my cameras, and at the same time provide a real increase in optical zooming power without image distortion, at all zooming levels?
