Hi friends,Thank-you for viewing this post.

I will be using a live switcher to produce a video of a broadcast next week. The switcher has only SDI output and I need to push the video to a web stream using either my macbook pro or windows-pc.

Inputs I have: USB 2.0-pc/mac, thunderbolt-mac, Firewire 800-mac, and Firewire-pc. I also picked up a RCA/composite to USB. I have to go from SDI to one of those inputs.

I have until the 4th of December. What should I buy to get SDI into one of my computers so that it can be streamed with something like Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE)?

Thanks in advanced for any ideas you can bring to this thread.

Take a look at BlackMagic's products, or Osprey's if you can use PCI on the Windows machine. I'm not pleased with how the Osprey card I tried altered the image quality, but I guess you don't need bit-for-bit capture if you are doing a web stream.
