    Virtual Dub displays a message box stating: MPEG Import Filter: packet sync error on packet stream (12233684) .

    I've tried fixing the mpeg using VCDGear but Virtual Dub still won't open the source mpeg.

    Please advise. Thanks!

    Have you tried opening it in VirtualDub with the Fault Tolerance box checked to allow partial mpeg streams?

    open file...popup extended open options...accept partial mpeg streams

    I've had this allow me to open some bad mpeg files, but it isn't foolproof.
