Can anyone help me?
I have a Elgato and I'm using the software included that's called Game Capture HD. Everything is great but I have one problem.
The program keeps splitting the videos automatically every 18 minutes of recording.
I turned off flashback recording but it's still doing it!

How big are the files?
I'm moving you to our capturing section. -
It always breaks the TS recordings into 4 GB segments. Probably so they don't have to worry about people using the FAT file system.

thats unfortunate..didn't know about that. anyway. can't you just "join" them later ?
what bitrate are you using to achieve the 4gig limit ?
maybe lower it will help unless you need limitless for game capturing. those things can go on for hours. i got a guy next door to me and he plays all day, straight through the night. its murder at time. he's playing that battlefield 4 i think is that latest title. -
The included software will remux them into single MP4 files (or convert to any of several other formats). Or you can join them yourself using a TS editor. I load them into VideoRedo.
It doesn't matter what bitrate you use. When the TS file gets to 4GB it splits to another. Obviously, if you use lower bitrates you get more running time per TS file. -
I don't have an Elgato but are you sure this isn't a problem because you are recording to a FAT32 drive? I had that problem recently when transferring files from the Hauppage HDPVR's capture drive to my flash drives. I had the drives in FAT32 since I as only using them to transport 1 - 2 GB MKVs. I now have a 64 GB USB 3.0 flash drive for files over the 4 GB Fat32 file size limit...

Hey guys,
Thanks for the replies.
The file sizes usually split up around 3.90Gbs... I'm recording at 30 Mbps but I doubt that's the reason.
I've tried joining the raw files using VideoReDo but all it does is give me processing errors like Underflow and Audio sync issues.
The program Game Capture HD has an option where it can automatically encode your recordings to .MP4 after you finish. I did this last night, and noticed that the encoded video did not have this little weird cut-stop like it would if I joined the raw files in VideoReDo.
I hate to encode and lose the raw .TS files but I guess there's no other way? I can't join them in VideoReDo because of the massive processing errors and the cut-stops when the next split part plays.Last edited by GEOLINK; 27th Nov 2013 at 18:43.

just curious......is this 1920x1080 video, and what are you capturing that requires 30Mbps ?
the remuxing feature that jagabo (and you) mentioned, using the included softare suite, does not reencode. it just joines all the clips into one at the end of the capture process. something like what mp4box would do if you ran it from a dos console box
Code:mp4box -add video1.ts -add video2.ts -add video3.ts -new newvideo.mkv
