  2. From your description alone it seems like it should be working, but obviously it's not. Can you post a mediainfo report of a file that works and one that doesn't?

Also, what is your workflow? I assume you're copying the files to your hard drive before loading them into vegas.

  3. my workflow usually goes from camera straight to program aka sony vegas,
why do i do it that way? because usually it wont read like,,.. if i try to put it on the desktop
or,.. in a folder, is says it cant be read

what do you mean post a media file of which ones are working and not working,

That's a very unusual place to have a file, and the [1] implies it is downloaded rather than copied from a camera. Try dragging it to your desktop and bringing it into Vegas from there.

Mediainfo, (click on the highlighted word,) is a tool for determining the makeup and structure of a video file. Download and install it. Read each installation screen carefully and refuse any adware.

Drop your media file into Mediainfo and view the report in tree view. Export it to a text file and post it.

Copy it from that ie temp folder to somewhere else ... a lot of apps wont open files from that location and even windows warns users when trying to open files from that location.

Second, remove the [] from the file name.

  8. ok so i have tried all of these options, none of them work, do you think it may be my camera? is it corrupt? because nothing works import wise. ive tried desktop importing and the thing is it never even gets to the desktop when i look into it on the folder itll show under properties that every thing is 0 meaning the video or whatver never got copied over,. and when i try to pull it straight off the camera it doesnt work either and when i try to do the tutorial where u check for it on sony vegas to see if the device is plugged in it doesnt show up as plugged in on the software but in the computer it does,

  9. What model is your camcorder and how did you actually got files from that camcorder to PC, what software did you use? You still did not post Mediainfo information about specs of your MOV file. Install Mediainfo, right click your MOV file, choose Media info, then find text on the bottom "Save to text file", post it.

If you can't import or copy the videos from your camcorder to your desktop, then it is quite likely that Vegas is also unable to access the full video. The camcorder could be at fault, or you could have a defective cable connecting it to your PC.

Without more details from you, we're all just going to be guessing at this point. So far the only thing you've given us is an example filename, which is from your internet cache, meaning that video was accessed using an internet browser, which is a very strange way to copy files from your camcorder. Most camcorders use either a direct USB connection, or connect via an A/V interface. Many also record onto a memory card of some kind, which can then be read directly by your computer.

The more information you can provide, the better others can help you. If you are unable or unwilling to provide the details, don't expect much.
