    Hello to everyone
I Have a DVD with menu and chapters, but menu doesnt' work
This is the list of the files inside VIDEO_TS folder:

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_01.VOB
    VTS_02_0.BUP
    VTS_03_0.IFO
    VTS_03_01.VOB
    VTS_04_0.BUP
    VTS_04_0.IFO
    VTS_04_1.VOB
    VTS_05_0.BUP
    VTS_05_0.IFO
    VTS_05_1.VOB
    VTS_05_2.VOB

When I open a .ifo file the menu appears only for 1 second and then skips to the next menu until the beginning of the video,so I cannot use it!
I must say that only VTS_5_1 and 5_2 are the video, while the previous files are only menu, but maybe the DVD needs more files missing for open correctly the menu.
There's a way to know if there are missing files? And how I can fix these ''holes'' without re-create the dvd?
    Thanks in advance

Check 'What is DVD' on the left of this reply.

There are many missing files. And you will have to recreate the dvd.

try to rename those "_01.VOB" endings to "_0.VOB" first, maybe those are menus end menus are always _0.VOB, then try _1.VOB

then you can download pgcedit , using trace mode to see what's going on

I contacted the author of this dvd
He tell me that He doesn't create well the menu, so it doesn't work
There's a way to cut off the menu without re-create the dvd in order to keep only video and chapters ??

  5. Pgcedit, but it is not straight forward, you have to change some commands there so it jumps into movie.

Or you just make DVD again, use those VOB's or title with movie in it.

I can take the vobs and re-author it, But I don't want to do that

That's exactly what you want to do - have the DVD play properly, either removing the menu or skipping the menu. Nothing gets reencoded. Anyway, DVDShrink in reauthor mode is one way (out of dozens) and will remove the menu and reauthor just the movie.

The problem with this disk is that the menu is simply not there. DVDShrink can hardly remove something that is not there in the first place.

But the file structure is crazy. Just what do the vob files before 5 do ?. I hardly think this disk was created in software. No software is that bad. A dvd-recorder where the user simply did not know what he was doing and the unit screwed up the result?

It doesn't matter as he said the actual video he wants is in the VTS_05_1.VOB and VTS_05_2.VOB. Maybe Shrink won't open it. Never know until you try. I wouldn't use it anyway, but suggested it because it's easy. Me, I'd demux and use Muxman. Or PGCEdit if it'll open the DVD, and then change/create the commands so it goes straight to the main video.

I used the reauthor mode of dvd shrink
It does exactly what I want: now there are only movie and chapters, just like the first dvd, and the good thing is that the two VOBS of the movie have the same size of the original ones.
    thank you a lot
