I really need some help here folks. Any time I play streaming video using Internet Explorer 8, the video will play for 2-3 seconds, then pause for a second, then play another 2-3 seconds, and then pause for another second. It does this continuously. But oddly enough, the audio plays straight with no interruption.

Why is this happening? It never used to do this. This is happening on ALL streaming videos, You Tube, TV stations, etc., regardless of source.

What do I need to do to make this stop? Any tweaks of my system or IE8 settings??? I tried disabling add-ons with no effect. I use a Win XP platform with an ISP providing 15 Mbps, so there's plenty of bandwidth as far as I can see.

Please HELP. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I gave that try, and the pauses are a bit shorter, but still much the same problem. Appreciate the suggestion.

  4. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
If the problem persists the current version might be buggy or require a more powerful computer. Try an older version like 10.3.183.90 http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

I wouldn't use IE anyway, but certainly not an out of date version. It has enough security problems anyway.

Try Firefox or Chrome ... Chrome may work better in XP. I know a couple of guys who run xp and firefox crashes on their systems. I don't think it's unsolvable but I don't know how to make that work. I don't use windows much anymore.

I haven't opened IE for years. I'm seeing these symptoms on Firefox and Chrome.

Firefox was my solution. All of the pausing was completely eliminated. Can't believe IE and Chrome can't get it fixed.
