After all the wonderful help you gys gave me in picking an editing software I chose to go with Vegas 12. Now i have a second question, I know Vegas can utilize GPU power for rendering and i love it but can it take full advantage of SLI linked cards?

It appears SLI is not supported, though you may want to poke around the sony site for a bit, to see if that's still true.

SLI and CROSSFIRE tend not to scale very well for encoding or decoding purposes. They're meant for FPS in game play.
