I'm trying to use the EDL option on MPlayer. Unfortunately, the only way I can create an EDL file is with Media Player Classic. I'm just trying a 3-minute trim.
This is what comes up when I open the file in Notepad.
00:00:11,700 00:03:25,484
Here is my command:
C:\MPlayer-x86_64-r36500+g6cf0c41\MPlayer-x86_64-r36500+g6cf0c41\mplayer.exe
-edl -o "test.edl"
I then get a message that says "There are no EDL actions to take care of". I don't know if MPC created the file in the correct format or not. Is there a way to play this?

Your command-line is obviously incomplete, therefore that error message is not a big surprise
For starters, and while Google doesn't become 100-per-cent evil
