Im in the UK and am looking to buy a Blu-Ray disc that AMAZON state is region A1, whereas some review sites are telling me it is a region free release, which one would you learned chaps trust, I have emailed the powers that be, but am yet to hear a reply from anyone.

Appears to be region free. One of the reviews at Amazon also states that it's region free.
Classic car movies...I have both on DVD.Google is your Friend -
Amazon's listings just tell you the official studio line.
If you click the Region Coding tab in the second link you provided, you can see that three different people independently confirmed that it is Region ABC. One of them happens to be a Blu-ray.com staff reviewer who has tested probably hundreds of discs.
