  1. Hi,

I'm looking for a solution which will able me to:

    1. Change container from MKV to MP4
    2. Create a Direct Stream Copy of the Video
    3. Allow for multiple audio tracks to be added in different formats for both Direct Stream Copy and Encode.
    4. Any Audio track selected for AAC Stereo to also have the option for Dolby Pro Logic II mixdown.

It would appear that XMedia recode can do all this but the last, it misses the mixdown feature. Handbrake can do it all but the video has to be encoded.

I essentially want to convert a number of video containers (without converting the video), whilst adding both a 5.1 AC3/AAC track and a 2.0 AAC track (with Dolby Pro Logic mixdown).

I need the videos to retain their original 5.1 AC3/AAC tracks for playing on a Roku, whilst also being compatible for iPad/Apple TV without transcoding hence the 2.0 track, but would like the 2.0 tracks to have the DPLII mixdown data.

Does anyone have any suggestions that doesn't include demuxing separately and using different programs for the process?

Also whilst on the topic, which is best out of the following AAC formats and what format is the blank AAC option in XMedia Recode?

    Handbreak:
    AAC (faac)
    AAC (ffmpeg)

    XMedia Recode:
    AAC (faac)
    AAC

    Thanks.

  3. Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, i have tried that before but it doesn't appear to have an option for Dolby Pro Logic II mixdown?

Please do let me know if i'm wrong, i just don't see the option.

I really don't understand why Handbrake doesn't allow for Video Direct Stream Copy, it seems like such a basic requirement in an application of this nature these days.
