I use DVD2SVCD with perfect results everytime. Is there something like that but to convert DivX to SVCD? The best thing about DVD2SVCD is that I can run it while I am sleeping. Converting DivX manually can not be done in my sleep

    Thanks to anyone who replies.

  2. As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. Newer version of DVD2SVCD have an AVI2SVCD choice that will use DivX files. You might have some trouble with aspect ratio. If they are widescreen movies than choose 16:9 as source, 3:4 otherwise.

    yea itz called..TMPGenc
Actually, TMPGenc alone wont do it. I am using the tutorials along the left and it requires 4 Tools....Virtualdub, CinemaCraft Encoder, Pulldown and BBMPEG. I assume I just simple cant throw it into TMPGenc and out pops a perfect mpg. Am I wrong?

  5. ...also, yes you can just run an AVI through TMPGEnc and get a perfect SVCD mpeg. I don't know where or why you would need to use CCE along with it, and you certainly don't need BBMPEG.

BBMPEG would be used to cut the finished mpeg into two or more CD sized files. With TMPGenc this is not needed. You can used the select Source Range function to encode just a part of the movie. Pick a time about halfway through and there you go for disk 1 (just used bitrate calc for needed bitrate to fit that length on 1 CD) save the project file with the correct settings. Then pick start and stop for 2nd CD and save that project file with a different name. Choose batch encode and away you go.

Using VirtualDub to extract the sound first is recomended because it really speeds up the encode time, but TMPGEnc will use the sound from the Divx if you want...and don't mind waiting a few hours more.

DVD2SVCD latest version not only supports AVI2SVCD function, but also has support for TMPGEnc.
