    Hello one and all.

    I have a question:
Is there a software I can get for free or for pay that does this:

    Reads a standard DVD disk,
    and converts it,
    and burns it,
    to a Blu-Ray disk

    Thank you.

TMPGenc Video Mastering Works 5, among others.

I assume you realize that you don't "convert" DVD to BluRay. You re-encode from DVD to BluRay. I assume you also realize that you can't make SD DVD look like HD by clicking a few icons. The DVD will still look like DVD, although at least slightly worse from re-encoding. If the DVD is commercial (copy protected), you'll have more work to do.

MultiAVCHD is another app. Several others are available.

  3. Assuming you are willing to accept movie only, there are tools to rewrap the dvd file to a blu-ray compliant file without encoding.
Such as DVDtoBD Express 2.0 Freeware.
Also it needs to be understood that keeping the dvd menu material isn't easy to do when transferring to blu-ray.

BDRebuilder can also to dvd(s) to blu-ray.

But no software lets you keep the original menus.

    WHY ?!?!?!
Unless you want to put multiple DVD's onto one disc.

If you think you are going to convert a standard DVD to the quality of a BluRay, it will never happen by any stretch of the imagination.
Just an FYI to save you a lot of time and grief.
