I'm a newbie to Final Cut Pro and have the great fortune of having access to it. I have a video on it right now and am needing help using Final Cut.

Have you tried your local library or bookstores (new and used)? You may be surprised at what you may find. There's also used bookstores on the net that may have some useful materials. Or maybe search for a local user group.

Just checked lynda.com and they have some FCP stuff. Sign up for the trial and see if they have what you need.

FCP is not just an Application, it can be a Career. It's a huge App. If you need assistance doing one specific task, then we are here to help. But we need some direction as to what specifically you need assistance with.

It's also a dead end. Apple has discontinued it for the very different FCPX.

If it's not already obsolete on Mavericks and up-to-date hardware it soon will be. Assuming you're starting from scratch, you may want to think twice about getting up to speed on it.

Premiere Pro is very similar to FCP7 if you love the workflow.

I use FCPX on my 2012 MacPro. I don't care for Premiere Pro. FCPX is different but far from being obsolete in the near future.

  8. I think you misread cr, FCP7 is eol, FCPX is the new kid and will be around as long as Apple feels like it.
