    Have you tried: Checkmate, DeDot, LUTDeCrawl, TComb, for the dow crawl problem?
    (http://www.aquilinestudios.org/avsfilters/dotcrawl.html has nice, short descriptions for them)

    looked at the sample and it looks more like aliasing than dot crawlers,...
    No suggestion regarding the rainbows.

    How does this look? (I don't encode animation much myself and I've not seen the results you've been getting so far)

    The second encode was just my little experiment as I wondered how much smoother it'd look with interpolated frames (60fps).
