Hello. I have like 50 Lagarith Lossless AVI videos I need to combine into one. Videos 2-50 will append fine but video 1 is giving me problems when I import it. See below:
I can happily combine that broken video with the other 50 but I cannot seek that portion in VirtualDub (well I can but like the error says it's slow). I thought to just recompress it using Lagarith again to a playable and seekable file but now that gives me the following error when I append that fixed video 1 to any of the 2-50 videos:
I've tried everything I can think of. Full processing mode and direct stream copy of both video and audio. The framerate, resolution and everything seems to be the same. How can I get myself a seekable file that will append with videos 2-50?

That probably means the video is encoded internally with a different colorspace according to the mode set in Lagarith (YUY2, RGB, RGBA, etc.). Figure out what the original colorspace is and use that. I think you can by pass this problem using Video -> Direct Stream Copy mode to simply remux the file. Ie, simply open the bad original, select Video -> Direct Stream Copy, then Save as AVI. That should rebuild the keyframe index.

Howabout, File > Open Video File and check 'Ask for extended options', select file and 'Open' , then check 're-derive keyframe flags'

Both videos were encoded in YUY2. I know this since my capture card uses YUY2 (I also set VirtualDub to YUY2 in both video stream and in the Lagarith compression option to be sure).
Here is MediaInfo stuff.
Original non fixed file:
Fixed file that won't append to 2-50:
One second difference between them.... weird.
Attributes of videos 2-50:
That rederive keyframe option works but it seems to make seeking of videos 2-50 much "laggier". Not rederiving keyframes of video 1 and appending the other videos is smooth.
Edit: Fixed it!
I used that rederive keyframes option and left everything on direct stream copy mode. Will now append to videos 2-50 fine!Last edited by TheThrillness; 4th Nov 2013 at 19:13.
