So I have this MP4 file and it cannot be detected when I browsed my usb drive through my TV but when I chaned the extension, my TV detects it but once I try to play the file, it failed.

My question is, how am I suppose to play it on my TV through usb drive?

    Thanks in advance.

Back up a bit and look at the file with MediaInfo. Don't start just "changing extensions". The extension is there to tell the player(s) what kind of container the file is.
Use mediainfo's output to determine WHAT the container actually is and then change the extension back to that container name. Then, if your TV/player doesn't recognize or see the file, you know that what you have to do is CONVERT the file, aka re-encode it, or re-wrap it in a different container. Which way would be determined by whether your TV/Player(s) support the existing codec (re-wrap) or not (re-encode).

Read the TV's manual and see what formats (both CONTAINER and CODEC, and possibly PROFILE) it supports. Then follow the remainder of my suggestion...

Buy Monsters University instead of downloading warez. Then can you rip it to mp4 with settings for your tv with for example handbrake.
