Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this?
Things like MythTV and others do this. Looking to do it on the command line (if possible). Ideas?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

and to display you add dst=display to the duplicate command like
Code:duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=file,mux=mpeg1,dst=/tmp/test.mpg}}
But mpeg1 is probably not the best codec to choose.
