I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet, and installed PhoShop Touch.

The Note has a Wacom pen, and engine, and that's something radically new for tablets. It's pressure sensitive. So it works well as a Painting/Drawing/Illustrating/PhotoEditing pen. Not like the old stylus pen. It's like magnetic and very precise. Not too many reviewers are gonna pick up on this. But artists will.

A Wacom Cintiq drawing tablet runs about $1000. But no Android. You have to cable it to your PC, or buy a wireless kit. Nobody but pro artists interested in that, but a lot of us art hackers do.

I'm no artist, far from it. But I do need to make elements for video compositing and it's nice to be able to do some stuff out in the field without cranking up a big 'ol laptop. I might want to sit out by the seashore and sketch pelicans, and wear one of those beenie caps and smocks while I'm going one toke over the line.

PhoShop Touch is $10, but it is very capable in the core functions of full PhoShop. It can do layers, compositing, drawing, painting, effects, different brushes, transforms, etc. The pen is very precise, I have to emphasize that. I would expect the price to rise as more people get into this and they add more features. It's very cool.

You can do a lot "in the field" or sitting on the couch now. I'm very impressed, and thought I'd share this info. I'm not easily impressed.

I was going to give in and buy 13HD Cintiq after Christmas.

To me, the biggest thing is being able to rest your hand on the drawing pad.
    Can't do that on iPad.

I used to draw. I want to draw again. But without paper.

Android version has "palm rejection". Maybe you can wear a thin glove?

I just finished this one. How do you like it? I'm selling these for $10 a pop if anyone wants a signed original.

Hahaha, Smurf, I'm just fooling around. I'm not an artist. I guess you can tell, hahaha. My wife likes it though, weird. She says "meh" to my better video stuff, and she likes this crap. It's a strange world. If you see this at the MOMA, they stole it.

Exactly! Jan/Feb/Mar is the best time to buy anything. They're starving. Most people buy at the height of the season, and that drives prices up.

I've been wanting a Cintiq for a couple years, but I just can't justify the cost. $500 yepp. That's why I'm happy for this tablet. At least I have something to practice with.

You might check out Infinite Painter and Infinite Design. I just stumbled across them and they're awesome.
