    Hi everyone,

I have recently been using AVCHDCoder to encode and burn video in AVCHD format to DVD R. Well I absolutely love the program except for one thing that I just cant seem to figure out....and that is why cant I start with an mkv NTSC file say 23.976 FPS, and then change the frame rate in AVCHDCoder to 25 FPS to out put a PAL file!

I can't believe I can't find anywhere in AVCHDCoder to change the frame rate to a PAL setting!? It works the other way around though, it will change PAL to NTSC, in fact, correct me if I'm wrong but you don't actually get a choice it always seems to spit out NTSC files!??

Because I couldn't find a way to convert to PAL using AVCHDCoder (big sigh), I used UncropMKV to change it first on my MKV file which worked fine. So far so good! Then however, after encoding in AVCHDCoder I (this was PAL 25 fps so I didn't change any settings) I ended up with a NTSC 23.976 fps M2ts file!

Surely there must be a way to out put an NTSC file as PAL - if it converts one way (PAL to NTSC) why wouldn't it convert the other? shouldn't be difficult should it.

Am I missing something here - is there something in the setting/options? I really would love to keep using AVCHDCoder for it's simplicity and quality encoding but it looks like I may have to search elsewhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Many thanks

I don't think it support any frame rate change....and as it hasn't updated for a long time you have to check for other converters. Maybe BDtoAVCHD or multiavchd.

But do you really need PAL? Have you tried play 23.976 on the media player?

Hi Baldrick and thanks for the advice.

My TV will play NTSC videos but I sometimes pass on my videos to friends and some of their TVs wont play NTSC videos.
However, thankyou for your recommendations. I have used MultiAVCHD but have not Used BFtoAVCHD. I found MultiAVCHD a very good program but a little too complicated at times. BDtoAVCHD however sounds like just what I'm Looking for so will have a good look.

Shame about AVCHDCoder though as I realy do like it - lets hope it get the facility to change frame rates in some futer update!

    Thanks again Bladrick
