The Youtube help section on video encoding recommends uploading 48 khz (or 96) but the youtube file shows 44.1 khz. Is there any reason to upload 48?

    Does Youtube support 5.1?

    From their article on encoding:

    Audio Codec: AAC-LC

    • Channels: Stereo or Stereo + 5.1
    • Sample rate 96khz or 48 khz

The only time that I uploaded 48kHz audio to YouTube, they did resample it to 44.1kHz.
Even though some people say Adobe Flash Player doesn't have problems with 48kHz anymore

Not until they stop resampling it to 44.1 KHz.

48 KHz is THE standard audio sampling rate for video, it's pretty lame they still resample it. Whenever I upload to YouTube I convert my 48 KHz audio to 44.1 KHz myself because I don't trust YouTube's resampling.
