  1. Hey everyone , i am new to this forum and would like to seek some help on an issue i am facing .
    I have a Panasonic DVD-S485 dvd which can play the following video types : Playable Disc Types
    DVD DVD, DVD-Video, DVD-R/-R (DL)/-RW, DVD+R/+R (DL)/+RW
    CD Video CD, CD, CD-R/-RW, CDDA, SVCD
    Others DivX
    It can play certain type of avi files of a certain codec , i am attaching a mediainfo screenshot of the file that my dvd player is able to play without any error .

    But when i convert certain .mkv/.mp4 to .avi the dvd player does'nt read them and gives a file error . I am using Xilisoft Ultimate Video Convertor for the conversion .
    Can someone please suggest me the correct tool and method for the above conversion .

    Be sure to choose avi with divx or xvid video and mp3 audio and use a frame size/resolution lower/equal than around 720x576 pixels.


    Or else try xvid4psp (version 5!), load your video, choose the avi hardware preset and convert.

    You can also try xmedia recode, freemake video converter, video to video converter. Use the avi dvd player/hardware presets in those converters.

    Or if they all fail use the official divx converter.
