The author of ISOBuster has released a new tool to convert vob or vro files to mpeg. It is called DVDVob2Mpg and is free to use. Edit: Looks like its been available here on the forum for a couple of weeks already.

    http://www.dvdvobtompg.com/

It seems a bit superfluous since we've had Vob2Mpg for so long, but Vob2Mpg hasn't been updated since December 2010, and there have been some reports of it not working in Windows 8 very well, and sometimes not at all. I use Vob2Mpg occasionally in Win 8, but the Vobset mode does not work for me, only the IFO mode.

I'll try this new one and see if it works ok in Windows 8.

Well, I'd say never mind messing with this one. It doesn't combine vob files found in a Video_TS folder and give you the entire movie as output. You can only import one vob file at a time. Which is pretty much useless most of the time.

It is fast, and worked fine on Windows 8.

If you do have some use for it, be careful of the installer. There seems to be one tricky add on in there that you might not catch.

interesting. on his website he says it's a "free" program, not an ad supported one, because he makes all his money off isobuster.

Or maybe there is more to it than I am aware. In a discussion with the author over at MyCE, he says the program "fixes" problematic vob files that don't import well into video editing programs. His main targets are home-made videos, rather than commercial ones.

The program, by default, includes a lot of header and packet info in the mpeg stream if that information is available.
