I have a movie that I want to encode to PAL. Even though the standard resolution is 352x288, I want to keep it 352x240 so it won't be stretched. Does anybody know if this will work, like on a DVD player?

Most tv's sold in pal regions are in fact multiscan tv's, meaning they can support both pal and ntsc signals. Furthermore, almost all dvd players that support pal will also support conversion from ntsc, since it doesnt actually have to convert the signal just modify it, unlike when you go from pal to ntsc.
So in all likelyhood, your setup should be able to properly play an ntsc
(s)vcd. I would keep it as it is and see if it works. You should not mix and match regional formats ie: 352x240 @25fps, I think that would definitely cause problems on many dvd players.
